Police confiscate alcohol and drugs at Eureka High School

Police found a worrying number of drugs at the school.

Last Wednesday, the police conducted a surprise raid at Eureka High School after the school was identified as a problematic school in Springs precinct by Department of Education.

The police conducted a search at the school after arriving unannounced.

The following items were recovered at school:

• Two bottles of gin

• Three knives

• 12 packets of dagga

• Eight boxes of matches

• Eight loose cigarettes

• Two packets of what police suspect is nyaope

• A table fork

• A packet of Rizla (brand of rolling papers in which tobacco, marijuana, or a mixture is rolled to make handmade joints and cigarettes.

Station commander Brig Thembeka Gwebushe was overwhelmed by the swift response of the police to act quickly to conduct a school search unannounced.

She also applauded the SAPS for their commitment to make school premises a conducive and safe place to learn.
