Senior official suspended on suspicion of fraud and corruption
The investigation process is being driven by the Internal Audit Department.
A senior official from the Department of Health and Social Development has been suspended by the City of Ekurhuleni owing to allegations of tender fraud and corruption.
The official was the manager in the Social Development Division and has been suspended with full pay after allegations of tender fraud and corruption involving millions of rands were made against the manager.
The allegations came to light after a complaint of unethical and corrupt behaviour was reported against this individual to the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).

A full-scale investigation has been launched into the allegations made against this individual.
The investigation process is being driven by the Internal Audit Department.
Until the investigation is concluded, the manager will remain suspended with full pay.
