Spokesperson William Ntladi says the metro’s Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) firefighters, rescuers and paramedics swiftly responded to the scene immediately after getting the call.

Both victims were found still inside the wreckage when the paramedics and rescuers arrived on scene.

The pilot and his passenger suffered severe injuries that led to their death.

“The call was received around 6.20pm and within 10 minutes, the personnel arrived on scene to render necessary rescue and medical treatment to the parties affected.

“Unfortunately, the pilot and the passenger didn’t respond positively to pre-hospital medical treatment rendered and they were declared deceased on scene by paramedics.
