Loads of Christmas cheer at retirement village

Manager Ronel de Freitas-Smit says the residents always look forward to this time of the year.

The Springs Retirement Home was abuzz on Monday as residents and their visitors enjoyed a hearty Christmas lunch.

“We invite the families to spend time with the residents and just to socialise.

“The kitchen staff go all out to give the residents and their families their favourite dishes.”

Leone Fourie (91) had a visit from her daughter Joanne van Vuuren (right), her granddaughter Leonie Richards and her great-granddaughters Zarah and Milla Richards.

She says the day also serves as a celebration of life.
