Winners of art competition overjoyed

“We hope that this will have a ripple effect and that more people can get involved.”

Children who entered the Divine Be Gracious and Insimbi Legacy Project’s Rhino Awareness colouring in competition on September 22 at the Springs Mall were given a pleasant surprise on Wednesday.

Diego de Wet, Kiara van der Merwe and Riashé de Wet were taken to the mall on Wednesday, unaware of the surprise that was awaiting them.

Diego won in the four to five years category, Riashé won in the six to seven years category and Kiara won in the eight to 12 years category.

When the children found out their drawing had won they could hardly contain their excitement.

For their efforts they were each given a certificate, as well as a hamper containing hand-crafted gifts, a T-shirt, teddy bears, crayons and many others.

Insimbi Legacy Project ambassador, Sharon Janse van Rensburg, says: “We wanted the children to enjoy something where they can actually make a difference.”
