Tuck shop loses cigarettes worth R7 000 after robbery

The complainant was sleeping in the room adjacent to the tuck shop when he was woken up by the sound of someone breaking the shop's precast wall.

A tuck shop in Skoonplaas is R10 000 poorer after a robbery last Tuesday morning, says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

He tried to alert neighbours by screaming but no one came to help.

Suspects also gained entry into the room where he was and pointed a gun at him and robbed him of R3 000 in cash.

Suspects also took cigarettes to the value of R7 000 before leaving the premises and fleeing on foot.

Goods were not insured and there were no injuries reported or shots fired during the robbery.
