EMPD arrests four suspects for drugs in the CBD

Four males and a female, between the ages of 22 and 40, were found in the house by DEU members.

Acting on information received from a concerned member of the community, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) visited a house on Second Avenue in Springs where narcotics were seized and occupants were arrested, including an undocumented person, on Tuesday morning.

“An officer searched the house and uncovered two knotted plastic bags of khat, 15 pieces of the drug rock, nine and a half Mandrax tablets, five ziplock bags of dagga, all valued at R6 200, and R200 cash.

“They were taken to the Springs Police Station and four (including the lady), were charged with possession and dealing in narcotics,” says Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson.

The suspects will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
