A man was shot in the stomach after he refused to pay R20 at the Rietfontein Dumping Site last Saturday morning, says Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.
The victim, who lives in KwaThema, went to the dumping site at around 6am to pick up plastic for recycling.
At around 1.30pm, four suspects came and demanded R20 from every person who was picking there.

The victim refused to pay the R20.
One of the suspects then shot him in the stomach.
The victim was rushed to KwaThema Clinic, but was later taken to Pholosong Hospital.
