Counterfeit goods worth R100 000 confiscated by police

“A suspect was arrested for defeating the ends of justice as he went to several second-hand shops to warn the shopkeepers the police were coming,” says Capt Johannes Ramphora, the police spokesperson.

The Springs Police conducted a counterfeit goods operation last Tuesday from 8am to 2pm in the Springs CBD, Everest Informal Settlement and Slovo Park.

The operation was part of the ongoing O Kae Molao (“Where is the law?) campaign which the police across Gauteng have embarked on since last year, targeting different crime spots in the province.

On Wednesday, the police seized goods worth R100 000 and liquor worth R150 000.
