Hoërskool Hugenote play friendly against Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool

The bowlers were excellent with the ball and Hugenote can be proud of their performance against the well-known Pretoria side.

Hoërskool Hugenote went up against Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies) in a friendly match at the Springs Old Boys cricket fields on Sunday morning.

Hugenote won the toss and chose to field first.

This decision proved fruitful for Hugenote, who managed to restrict the visitors to a score of 187 runs in just 32 overs.

The bowlers were excellent with the ball and Hugenote can be proud of their performance against the well-known Pretoria side.

The Affies batsmen put up a fight against the home side with the best batsmen of the day scoring 57 and 31 respectively.

Best bowlers for the home was Neill Joubert, who claimed four wickets in his seven overs for just 35 runs.

Joubert was well supported by Kyle Dabner, who scored two wickets in six overs, that included a maiden over for just 25 runs, and Brandon Steyn who also scored two wickets in his five overs.

After seeing the bowlers put on a show, the batsmen were under pressure to perform with the bat.

Dewan Snyman and Joubert had an excellent partnership of 89 runs.

Although Hugenote lost, they certainly proved they are a force to be reckoned with.
