Woman hijacked on N12 bridge by bogus policemen

The suspect then asked the victim why she was driving with an expired disc at which point the victim disagreed and stepped out of her car to inspect her disc, leaving her car keys in the ignition.

A woman was hijacked on the Holfontein bridge on Saturday evening after she was stopped by what appeared to be policemen.

The victim was driving when a white VW with blue lights signalled for her to stop.

When the victim stopped her car, two suspects dressed in police uniform stepped out of the car and came to her.

The one suspect came to the victim’s side of the car and started talking to her while the other was inspecting her licence disc.

The suspect then asked the victim why she was driving with an expired disc at which point the victim disagreed and stepped out of her car to inspect her disc, leaving her car keys in the ignition.

At this point, the one suspect jumped into her car and reversed it while the other pointed his firearm at her and ordered her to jump into their car.

The suspects drove the victim about 2km away from where she was hijacked and dropped her off at a local scrapyard.

Once there, the victim was helped and went to the police station to open a case of hijacking.
