Man killed on the Etwatwa off-ramp

When the suspects started shooting at the victims, the driver of the bakkie was killed immediately while the other victim was shot in his hands and hips.

 

Two men were attacked on Wednesday evening by three suspects between the Etwatwa and Welgedacht off-ramps.

The victims were driving a bakkie with a trailer carrying sofas when they were shot at by a passing vehicle which had first flicked their lights at them to get the driver to reduce the speed he was driving at.

When the suspects started shooting at the victims, the driver of the bakkie was killed immediately while the other victim was shot in his hands and hips.

After the bakkie stopped, the suspects searched the injured man who pretended to be dead and walked away with his cellphones.

The suspects also took the R50 000 in cash that was in the driver’s door panel.

The dead man is a 37-year-old from Nigeria.

Two cartridges were found on the scene by police.
