KwaThema woman arrested for possession of dagga valued at R4 000

The arrest came after the police received a tip-off from the police.

A woman (41) from KwaThema was arrested for possession of dagga valued at R4 000 on Monday.

This after police received a tip-off from a concerned resident and immediately followed up on it which led to the arrest of the suspect.

The EMPD spokesperson, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, says the resident informed the police that the suspect was in possession of 216 ziplock bags of dagga.

“The police searched the suspect’s home on Zwane Stret and found the dagga, which was confiscated and the suspect was arrested on the scene.

“The suspect was detained at KwaThema Police Station and charged with being in possession of and dealing in dagga.

“She is expected to appear in the KwaThema Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday,” he says.
