Do you need a special vote?

Applications for special votes is currently open and closes on Thursday, April 18 so your application must be submitted before then.

The general election is taking place on Wednesday,  May 8, however, special voting is taking place on Monday and Tuesday, May 6 and 7.

According to Michael Waters MP. deputy chief whip of the official opposition, if you are away on holiday or business, elderly, bed ridden, heavily pregnant or simply working on May 8, you can apply for a special vote in order to say #IMadeMyMark.

“On the Monday or Tuesday you will be entitled to go to your voting station, where you are registered, between 8am and 5pm and cast your ballot or if you are unable to go your voting station the IEC will come to your home in order for you to cast your vote,” said Waters.

In order to be assisted in applying for a special vote, contact your local ward councillor who will then ensure that your application is submitted.
