Gillespie Road a hazard for motorists

“I have reported this to the municipal electrical department regularly, every two weeks over the last two months, but still nothing has been done.

Gillespie Road has been in the dark for almost two months.

Resident Karl Herwig says the road is hazardous for motorists and worries about the safety of patients, especially as it is so close to a nearby hospital and is regularly used by emergency vehicles.

“I have reported this to the municipal electrical department regularly, every two weeks over the last two months, but still nothing has been done.

“Every report is recorded manually in a book in the liaison office.

“I have also requested for this situation to be escalated, but nothing.

“This illustrates a total failure of their reporting system,” says Herwig.

The metro failed to respond in time for publication.
