One person sustained a slight head injury during the robbery.

A Wright Park pub lost stock and equipment worth R60 000 during a robbery last Friday evening.

The owner of the pub says two men entered the pub at around 8pm to buy loose cigarettes and later the same men, now accompanied by three other men, all with firearms came back to the pub.

Two of the suspects went to the till and demanded money while the other three suspects made the staff members and customers lie on the ground.

The suspects stole R600 from the till, liquor worth R30 000, a pair of shoes worth R8 000, R2 000 from one of the customers, a cellphone, a hi-fi and mixer worth R30 000 and a customer’s old shape red Toyota Corolla sedan was taken and used as a getaway car.

Apparently the owner and one of the customers followed the suspects after they left but turned around when they saw the suspects enter an informal settlement near Brakpan.
