Geduld residents in despair over overgrown plot.

“We have to use a packet of poison a day, just to keep the mice at bay,” says Sanet Joubert.

Ninth Avenue residents are in despair over an overgrown plot that is attracting mice and snakes into their homes.

The residents say the grass was last cut in November and they are at their wits end.

“With the rains, the grass has grown very long over the past two months.

“We have to use a packet of poison a day, just to keep the mice at bay,” says Sanet Joubert.

We asked for comment from the person who was alleged to be the owner of the house but he responded by saying he is not the owner.

At present, the plot is used for parking and is also filled with building rubble.

The metro failed to respond in time for publication.
