 Sewage problem in Cloverfield Road continues

“With the new housing that is coming up shortly in Alliance next to Dersley, how is the sewer system going to cope with the extra sewerage, asks ward councillor Ramesh Sheodin.

Residents in Dersley are at their wits’ end with the sewage problem that never seems to go away.

The problem has been happening for the past 12 years and there seems to be no permanent solution in sight.

Reasons for the problem have differed over the years from a blocked pipe to illegal miners.

“The sewer in Cloverfield road is flowing for many years.

“Residents are concerned about the health issues that accompany this sewer overflow.

“The stink is unbearable. It is not acceptable that the municipality cannot find a solution to the problem.
