Springs SAPS management would like to warn the community of Springs about bogus police officers.
There are suspects who dress like police officers and drive police cars and park on the side of the road like the police.
These bogus traffic cops are operating along the N17 and N12 highways.
These suspects are driving a white VW Golf 7 and a Polo with blue lights.

The suspects pull drivers over and motorists will stop because they think they may have done something wrong.
The fake police officers will ask motorists to exit the vehicle and produce their driver’s licence.
They will then force the driver into the back of the car at gunpoint and then drive with them.
The driver will then be thrown into an open veld, sometimes while the vehicle is moving, and they will steal the car.
The community is requested to call the police when they are being stopped by the identified cars.
