The Selcourt Methodist Church held its annual 67 Minutes for Mandela at Presidentia on Saturday.
Team leader Chris Bester says the council (Ekurhuleni Metro) has a list of things they fix at the metro housing.

“We do everything else that’s not on the list,” he says.
During their mission outreach at Presidentia, which Bester says is a lot more than 67 minutes, as they spend most of the day there, the members of the church and other volunteers fix leaking taps and toilets, change light bulbs, clean gutters, prune bushes and trees, fix windows and window sills and any other small fixes they can manage.

All the supplies for these fixes are paid out of the church and members’ pockets.
“The metro also stepped in and helped with the bigger things that we cannot necessarily fix,” he says.
On the day, Chris was braaing wors rolls for all the residents and volunteers.
He says the wors was sponsored by Ina McDonald from Operation Snowdrop.
