Mobile Library for children at The Avenues

The library will move around the centre as space becomes available.

The Avenue Shopping Centre started their own mobile library last Saturday.

“We thought it would be a great thing to do for children, especially during the school holidays.

“We provide the books for them and they come to read to us, and then we give them a treat afterwards.

“Reading is important and we hope to help stimulate their imagination,” says Carolynn Weedon of the centre.

Weedon, who works with a team of students who are studying to be teachers, will hold the mobile library once a month.

The mobile library will move all around the centre as space becomes available.

There will also be a movie morning at the centre on June 30 and July 4 for children, which is free of charge.

Those who wish to donate children’s books can contact the centre’s management office at 011 815 2902.
