New mobile clinic to serve the needy

Lazarus Legacy Foundation launches mobile clinic to fill the gap in our healthcare system.

In their bid to leave a lasting legacy, Bishop David Lazarus and Neela Lazarus recently founded the Lazarus Legacy Foundation (LLF).

“LLF mainly focuses on education and health.

“After launching a tuition centre almost two years ago the foundation has also seen a need for a mobile clinic to reach out to many of the previously disadvantaged areas in the East Rand,” explains Bishop Lazarus.

The organisation is founded on values such as compassion for our fellow man, seeking the common good of all, reaching out a helping hand to those in need and serving others and our community selflessly.

He says lack of transportation and finance was identified as the most common factors, which prevent the community from acquiring the medical treatment and services needed.

“The Lazarus Legacy Foundation will provide healthcare to our communities at large, as we believe that this is a basic human right.”

The official launch of the clinic took place on May 27 in Brakpan and was a success.

“We are in the process of recruiting healthcare staff and thereafter we will be fully operational.

“We are looking for volunteers and also full-time staff (preferably retired).

“We are also looking for organisations to partner with us so that we can have sufficient resources to be functional seven days a week.”
