Rotary Club of Springs Park host Toastmasters evening

The Rotary Club of Springs Park held their annual Toastmasters evening at Pollak Park Golf Club clubhouse.

Learners from Springs Girls High School and Springs Boys High School showcased their public speaking skills by presenting their prepared and impromptu speeches.

The topic varied from “Modern Education” to “Dear Brain”.

Rotary Club of Springs Park president Louise Schaap with the winners of the night Nokuthula Zikalala, Sebastian Walters and Lesego Molefe.

The learners were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Springs Park.

Louise Schaap, president of the club, says, “The youth are the future.

“Public speaking is a skill they will need later on in life and it was wonderful to give them a skill that will empower them.”

Sebastian Walters was awarded the top speaker of the night award, as well as for his prepared speech and Lesego Molefe won in the impromptu speech category.

Nokuthula Zikala won the best evaluation award for her evaluation of one of the speeches given on the night.
