A man and his girlfriend were sitting in the house when there was a knock on the door.
Capt Johannes Ramphora says the man stood up and went to unlock the kitchen door where he was confronted by two armed suspects.
“The suspects entered the house and pointed their firearms at the man and his girlfriend and tied them up with shoelaces,” he says.
They ransacked the house and took two cell phones, a TV and demanded the car keys of a white Golf 5 parked outside.
The suspect put the stolen items in the car and drove off.
The man managed to untie himself and called the police.
The vehicle was traced and recovered in Daveyton.
No suspects were arrested.
A case of house robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station.
