Police warning: Increase of house robberies in Struisbult

Struisbult has become a hub of dangerous activity where more and more houses are being targeted and robbed.

In the past few weeks alone, there seem to have been a drastic increase in house robberies.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police says they have identified Struisbult as a problem area.

“There is definitely a big problem in Struisbult, but we want to assure residents that we are taking notice and acting on it,” he says.

Police have already sent two patrol cars to monitor the area on a regular basis.

“We are also in the process of arranging meetings with the community so that we can fight this crime purge together and try to keep them safe.”

Ramphora says they believe it is one group of criminals who are terrorising the community, but cannot yet prove that suspicion.

“We are busy investigating the matter and take it very seriously.”
