A hijacking took place along Ermelo Road next to Aston Lake on Saturday at about 9.30pm.
The victim, who is from Secunda, was driving a white Isuzu double cab bakkie when he gave three people, one woman and two men, a lift.
Capt Johannes Ramphora says one of the men sat in front while the other two were sitting in the back seat.
“When the victim drove next to Aston Lake, the suspect in the back pulled out a firearm, pointed it at the driver and ordered him to stop the vehicle,” he says.
When the victim pulled over, they ordered him to get out of the vehicle.
The suspects drove away in the direction of Delmas.
The victim phoned his friend who lives in Springs and came to the scene with the police.
The victim’s brother, who owns the vehicle, came from Secunda and went to the Springs Police Station.
A case of hijacking was opened at the station.
