Vehicle hijacked in Springs, recovered in Etwatwa

A man was the victim of a hijacking as he went to his employer’s home in Payneville in March.

The complainant was approached by three unknown males as he arrived at the house.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson of the Springs police says one of the suspects pointed a firearm at him and instructed the man to lie down.

“Another suspect searched the complainant and took two cell phones and other personal belongings,” he says.

The suspects then allegedly took the complainant’s Nissan Hardbody bakkie and fled the scene.

No shots were fired and the vehicle was recovered by a tracking company in Etwatwa.
