Springs Retirement Village celebrate Easter with high tea

Whose hat tops them all?

Residents at Springs Retirement Village showed off their creative sides as they competed for the best Easter-themed hat competition.

The elderly citizens gathered at the dining hall on Tuesday afternoon for high tea as they waited to see whose hat was the best.

Dorothy Bishop was one of five number ones for her Easter-themed hat. Bishop is the oldest resident at Springs Retirement Village at 97 years old.

As they feasted on the delicious food provided by Lee Pratt and her team, judges Ann-Lee, Jonathon Coates and Bongi Mamonyane walked around evaluating each hat.

The judges struggled to find a clear winner as all the hats were beautiful.

Duifie Brand was delighted to win a prize for her beautiful creation.

“You have outdone yourselves and we couldn’t choose a single number one, so we decided to have five number ones,” says manager Bongi Mamonyane.

The winning hats were made by Lynn Dunster, Liz Owens, Felicity Morton, Dorothy Bishop and Duifie Brand.

Liz Owens was delighted to be one of the winners in the Easter-themed hat competition at the Springs Retirement Village. Sitting next to her is Norma Tully.

Friends Sybil Clarke and Jean Muholland were thrilled to show off their marvelous Easter-themed hats at the high tea at the Springs Retirement Village.
