Boy (8) suffers serious injuries after collision on Paul Kruger Road

A collision on Paul Kruger Road left one injured.

A collision between a bakkie and light motor vehicle on Paul Kruger Road left an eight-year-old boy with serious injuries.

The accident happened on Monday afternoon and two other people sustained minor injuries.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just after 4pm, another medical service was already in attendance and was busy assessing the boy in the back of the ambulance.

“Upon further assessment, it was found that the boy sustained serious injuries,” says Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson.

The injured child was then airlifted to hospital for further treatment.

ER24, as well as another medical service on the scene, transported the other two patients to hospital for further medical care.

EMPD spokesperson Clifford Shongwe says it is not yet clear what caused the accident.
