Robbers attack man with hammer in Bakerton

A house robbery took place in Bakerton last Monday.

The complainant woke up around 5.30am to use the outside facilities.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police says as the man opened the door to go outside, he was attacked by two unknown males who were already in the yard.

The two suspects allegedly pushed him back into the kitchen and started to hit him with hammers.

The complainant’s sister heard the noise and went to the kitchen to assist her brother.

“She had her cellphone in her hand, ready to phone for help when one of the suspects grabbed it from her hand,” says Ramphora.

The suspects fled the scene.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station.
