The Springs police held an operation in the Springs CBD last Saturday.
Capt Johannes Ramphora says the main purpose of the operation was to curb business robberies and armed robberies.

“The police approached a male in Fourth Street who looked suspicious,” he says.
When the police requested to search him, he refused and allegedly started to assault the police officer.

The police managed to arrest the man and opened a docket of assault of a police officer.
“The suspect will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.”
