Numerous people doing shopping stopped by to have their hair sprayed or shaved.
The Shavathon, one of many to be hosted across Gauteng, was held from 10am to 4pm at the mall.

David Payaniandi, marketing manager at Veritas College, says that by around 10.30am they had already raised about R2 000.
“We have had teachers affected by cancer which is one of the reasons why we are doing this, because we have a deeper connection and the need to help,” David says.

Gabriella Cameron, Miss Junior SA finalist 2018, was also at the event to help out.
Other staff members and learners from Veritas College were behind the spray cans and clippers, ready to get started on the donors’ hair.
David took his turn in the ‘hot seat’ as he entrusted a Veritas learner with shaving his head.
His spirited action was one of many as people generously gave their hair in a show of support for the fight against cancer.
In an inspiring turn of events, Amoret D’Arrigo, marketing manager of the Springs Mall, turned up and not only participated in the Shavathon, but had her head completely shaven.
“I shaved my head so people can know that you don’t have to be shy to support the fight against cancer, but to do so proudly,” says Amoret.
Children of all ages were sat down at the chair and had their hair sprayed in all varieties of colour.
Learners, staff and shoppers all joined in the effort to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).
The Shavathon was held at selected shopping centres across the country.
