Springs family robbed after returning home from church

A man, his wife and his mother-in-law were robbed at gunpoint when returning from church on Sunday.

The complainant arrived at his home at Welgedacht Plots and as he opened the gate to drive in, he saw three men pointing firearms at them.

The suspects instructed them to exit the vehicle and lie on the grass.

Amanda Greybe, spokesperson for the Springs Police, says the suspects then took the complainant’s wife to open the door.

“After taking the complainant into his bedroom, the suspects took his car keys, two TV sets, DVD and video machines, house keys, his wedding ring along with his wife’s wedding ring and a silver ring,” she says.

The suspects allegedly struggled to start the car and they fetched the complainant to start it for them.
