A message claiming the recipient could win a R4 000 gift card from Pick n Pay has been doing the rounds on social media.
The supermarket giant has since issued a warning after learning of the message.
Pick n Pay spokesperson, Tamra Veley, says they have asked their customers to be alert to a scam being circulated on social media which is offering customers a R4 000 gift card if customers complete a survey.
“This type of online scam is unfortunately quite common both here and internationally, and is often used either to get people’s details, or bank account details.
“We would urge customers never to give away any personal information online,” says Veley.
