John Fulane died shortly after being stabbed in Gugulethu at 12.15am on Sunday.
The deceased and his brother went to visit a friend in Mbhele Street, Gugulethu Informal Settlement shortly before midnight.
Both of them stayed in Gugulethu too.

“The two brothers left their friend’s house at about midnight,” says Ramphora.
It was about 15 minutes after they left that someone knocked on the friend’s door.
“When he opened the door, Fulane fell next to his door and he noticed his friend had been stabbed,” says Ramphora.
The friend tried to talk to Fulane, but he didn’t respond.

Ramphora says he called for help from his neighbours who instructed him to contact the police.
When the police arrived, they found the body of the deceased and called for medical assistance.
Paramedics declared Fulane dead on the scene.
The paramedic confirmed the deceased died from a stab wound to the main artery in his neck.
“The deceased was stabbed with a knife,” says Ramphora.
