Tireless Ina’s Christmas gift spree
Children, parents and senior citizens were all spoiled with donations from Operation Snowdrop.
Residents and children of the Never Never and Hollywood informal settlements were spoiled with Christmas gifts and clothes on Wednesday.
Over the past few weeks Ina McDonald, founder of Operation Snowdrop, and volunteers have been working around the clock to buy gifts according to the ages of the children from Geduld and the informal settlements.

At 3pm, Ina and a few volunteers arrived at the Never Never informal settlement.
“We know our ‘customers’ very well and what their needs are,” Ina says.
Each child present received a Christmas gift, sweets as well as clothes.
The parents were treated to clothes and shoes as well.
With Never Never done, Ina and her crew went to the Hollywood informal settlement in Lodeyko, where they had all the gifts and clothes marked and handed them out to the residents and children.

Ina also made sure the children received a packet of sweets as well.
“We were not done yet, as we also catered for the senior citizens residing at Markville Flats and Molendam,” she says.
These residents received Christmas parcels, including a braai pack, toiletries, groceries and cold drinks
Springs’ homeless people were next on the list, and were spoiled with groceries and clothes.
Ina’s list of less fortunate people has grown excessively, but they always try to accommodate the adults and children with the donations they receive and with what they can contribute.
“We wish all the families a wonderful blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year,” says Ina.
