Domestic worker surprised by robbers in Selcourt

A house in Selcourt was robbed when two suspects surprised a domestic worker.

A domestic worker got the fright of her life when she was surprised by two unknown men at a house in Federal Street, Selcourt on Monday.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the suspects were not armed and inquired about a safe.

According to Ramphora, the worker was having lunch at 12.30pm when she was approached by the two men.

When the domestic worker informed them there was no safe, they pushed her into a bedroom in the house.

“The men took a wristwatch and two TVs before they fled the scene on foot,” says Ramphora.

The value of the stolen items is estimated to R32 000.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station.
