Ksasalethu NPO to host Far East Family Fund-raiser

Local NPO K'sasalethu aims to raise money to establish a youth development centre through the Far East Family Fund-raiser on December 2 at the Springs Old Boys' Sports Club.

K’sasalethu, meaning ‘our future’, is a non-profit organisation (NPO) that will be hosting an inaugural Far East Family Fund-raiser at the Springs Old Boys’ Sports Club in Pollak Park on December 2.

“K’sasalethu is joining hands with the Ekurhuleni metro and the Mpumelelo Quadriplegic Home to present a fun-filled family day for a good cause.

“The event is aimed at helping to establish a one-of-a-kind youth development centre, which will be the central hub for developing underprivileged communities and organisations,” said K’sasalethu director Themba Mashinini.

The event promises entertainment for the entire family, including live music, children’s games, a family market and the main attraction will be a six-a-side soccer tournament.

The market will include various food stalls, local fashion brands and local businesses run by South African youths.

Companies and soccer teams from around Ekurhuleni can contribute towards the fund-raiser by challenging each team for a sum of money.

The money donated by the soccer teams will go towards the building of the development centre and also towards the winning team that scores the most goal points.

“Our vision is not only to see the youth employed, but also to create opportunities for others in various self-sustainable ways,” says Mashinini.

The event will start at 8am with free entry for everyone.
