One human trafficking suspect applies for bail

Seven human trafficking suspects will remain in custody until their next court appearance.

The case against the seven suspects arrested in connection with a human trafficking sex den in Third Street, CBD was postponed.

They appeared in the Springs Regional Court on Monday.

The case was postponed for accused seven’s bail application.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesperson, says the seven suspects were among the 19 people arrested on May 24.

Twelve of the people were released on May 29, during their first court appearance, as no evidence was found against them.

The seven suspects are facing charges of sex exploitation and human trafficking.

They will remain in custody at Modderbee Prison until their next court appearance.
