Only cellphone still missing

Armed suspect points firearm at security guard.

Three suspects robbed a business on the corner of Lewis and Sutherland roads in Strubenvale on Saturday.

The security guard on duty alleges he heard a knock on the door of the house and upon investigation saw an armed suspect standing outside.

SAPS spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the guard gave the suspect his cellphone and a laptop through the window.

When a second suspect broke the window to gain entry, he dragged the guard out of the house.

The guard claims he saw three suspects at the time.

“They took him to a nearby container where he was tied up and locked inside,” says Ramphora.

Later the guard was freed by another guard who was supposed to take over from him.

They noticed the tyres of three trucks had been removed, but later found all the tyres at the back of the premises.

“Even the laptop was found behind the wall, but the cellphone is still missing,” says Ramphora.
