Sifiso Gonya invents a free social networking and music store app

A young app developer from Springs has created an app that allows users to create profile, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with people from all over the world.

Sifiso Gonya (21) built the free social-network app ‘Inbox’, to help users to connect easily to friends, family and colleagues by creating a profile, uploading photos/videos and sending instant messages.

Each member’s profile contains several key networking components – the most popular being the blog, which is essentially a virtual bulletin board.

“It’s important for everyone to have a great experience when using Inbox on their phone, no matter the device they’re using or the connection they’re on,” says Sifiso.

Sifiso and his two friends, Sifiso Ndzimande and Donald Pakkies, started working on the Inbox app four years ago.

Donald assisted with the debugging and design of the website/app.

Sfiso assisted financially so they could buy domain and rent servers online. He also makes sure that the website/app runs smoothly.

The trio want to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.

“We focus on building relationship with people and connecting people around the world,” says Sifiso.

“Inbox helps you build new connections, find interesting people and discover content that can surprise and delight you.”

The app is your little piece of personal real estate on the internet. You can customise your profile and write status updates to communicate with friends.

“You not only get current and personalised news of friends’ updates, but updates from brands, blogs and public figures as well, which are delivered to you via the news feed.”

They have also created an Inbox music store that offers a variety of music genres.

The music section allows artists to upload music on their Inbox page and sell their own music using the buy button that has digital rights.

“Building a platform that helps creators of music and audio share their original content is at the heart of everything we do at Inbox music store,” says Sifiso.
