Death of man investigated

The body of a 49-year-old man was found behind the Selcourt Towers Shopping Centre on Monday.

Thomas Mtsweni’s body was found lying on the ground at noon.

According to SAPS spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora, the deceased was with his friend at the back of the building when he informed his friend he wasn’t feeling well.

“His friend left to buy cigarettes and when he returned he found the deceased on the ground,” he says.

SAPS and paramedics were called to the scene but Mtsweni was declared dead on the scene.

Ramphora says the deceased sustained a head injury which they believe might have caused his death.
