Fun at Die Agterplaas’ first market day event

Organisers are happy with their first market day.

“We most certainly had a wonderful event,” says Cindy Cousins, one of the organisers of the Christmas in July Market Day.

The event was held on Saturday at Die Agterplaas in Colliery Road, Lodeyko.

Cousins says the market was well attended by over 2 000 visitors who supported over 60 stalls on the day.

They only received positive feedback from both visitors and exhibitors.

“The people confirmed the community of Springs has been waiting for a local market that can be enjoyed by the whole family without having to leave Springs,” she says.

Although it was the first event, organisers are looking forward to planning their next market to be held in November.

Cousins says they are planning to host different themed markets in future to assure the community enjoys a variety of stalls and entertainment.

“We are grateful for the support from the community and assure them Die Agterplaas venue will continue to grow and become one of the best local markets on the East Rand,” says Cousins.

Saturday’s entertainment line-up included dancers from a dance studio, the as well as Ewoud Ayers, Chantel Evans, Martin Pool, Heidi, local singer Sharoney, and Jacky Jansen Van Rensburg.
