Nikyla crowned Miss Petite Africa 2017

Nikyla Moodley (9) from Bakerton, a vibrant girl with a heart of gold, was recently crowned Miss Petite Africa 2017.

This is not her first, or last, title as she was also crowned Miss Petite Tourism SA 2017 in March.

Nikyla is a Grade Three learner at Veritas College.

“In my spare time I love to colour in, sing and dance,” she says.

Almost a year has gone by since Nikyla was crowned Miss Petite Queen of The Universe 2016.

Nikyla’s title will be handed over in September.

“My title will continue forever. I know I am not the queen because of the crown on my head – it’s what I carry in my heart,” she says.

During Nikyla’s year of reign she has touched many lives, both young and old.

Nikyla has been assisting many charity organisations, families in need, a stranger on the roadside and by donating blankets and food to the SPCA.

Most of all she enjoys spending time at children’s homes, playing with the children around her.

“Nikyla is extremely excited to continue making a difference as Miss Petite Africa and believes together we can make a change,” says her proud mother, Charlene Moodley.

“Nikyla has won many titles over the past few years and she has blossomed into the beautiful and confident girl she is now.

“I believe it doesn’t matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.

“As they say: ‘nothing is impossible’.

“The word itself says ‘I’m possible’.”
