Local beauty crowned in international pageant

Springs resident and Mrs Glamour Africa, Bianca Birnie (36), recently represented Mrs Africa in Belgium, Europe.

The Mrs Glamour International pageant was held between June 23 and July 2.

“I represented the continent and won the title of Mrs Glamour International second runner-up,” she says.

Bianca explains there were 19 finalists from different countries who participated in the international event.

Other finalists in the Mrs Glamour International pageant range from countries such as Aruba, Belgium, India, Israel, Mozambique, Netherlands, North Israel, Philippines, Russia, Ukraine and the United States of America.

The beauty queen is no stranger to the residents of Springs and KwaThema and has been busy over the past few years, giving a helping hand to various charities and less privileged children around Gauteng.

She says she enjoys visiting the elderly to spend time with them and and visits day care centres in KwaThema.

Bianca has been involved with the Ndalo-Enhle Day Care Centre in KwaThema since January last year and says she loves her regular visits to the centre, particularly when she takes sweets as a treat to brighten up the children’s faces.

With every visit Bianca takes small items, including books, to try and assist the owner, Makhosazana Simelane (44), and her two teachers Shado Duba (44) and Rene Eiman (32).

Biance also moved her attention further afield when she choreographed the Mr, Miss & Mrs Deaf SA (MDSA) gala event which was held at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria, in October.

Using her experience as the owner of a local modelling school, Bianca also took on the role of stage manager and production assistant.

Biance has won many pageant titles in her career and adding Mrs Glamour International second runner-up is just the beginning of her big titles.
