Metro can’t protect O’Hagans fence from vandalism

In response to a query about two holes cut into the fence recently erected around O’Hagans in Zig Zag Road, CBD, the metro commented as follows:

Metro spokesman Themba Gadebe says the fence was fixed but it is not possible to keep 24-hour security around the fenced off area.

“However, spot-checks by the EMPD may assist in reducing the rate of vandalism,” he says.

Gadebe says the golf course, which is directly next to the fenced off property, may be fenced off once the legal dispute has been resolved and depending on the availability of funds.

“Once the tender for the lease of the O’Hagans building has been approved, metro’s facilities management department will endeavour to repair and renovate the building” he said.
