Springs judge sentence KwaThema man to 25 years imprisonment for rape.

A KwaThema man, convicted of robbing and raping a 17-year-old girl twice, was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment on Wednesday.

Tshepang Hlabi (38) was found guilty on two counts of rape and one count of a robbery with aggravating circumstances.

SAPS spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora says Hlabi raped the teenager the first time in December 2014 and again in October 2015, when he also robbed her of her cellphone.

On Wednesday, a Springs Regional Court judge sentenced Hlabi to serve 25 years imprisonment.

Ramphora says Hlabi was arrested on October 27, 2015.

On count one he was sentenced to 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances and for count two and three he was sentenced to 10 years each, which will run concurrently.
