Springs motorbike crash victim determined to make fully recover

An Endicott motorcyclist was recently discharged from hospital and is recovering at home, after being involved in a serious accident in Kempton Park, in April.

Rudi Seyffert (36), the Endicott man who was involved in a motorbike accident in Kempton Park on April 17, was discharged from hospital last Tuesday and is recovering at home.

He was on life support and in an induced coma after both his lungs were injured and he sustained broken ribs.

Family spokesperson Louwrette Wiese says just before Rudi was moved out of ICU to a medical ward, he showed positive signs of improvement.

“I believe God has answered all our prayers because even the doctors were astound at his speedy recovery,” she says.

“Once he was in the medical ward, the nursing staff assisted him, step by step, to walk again.

“Before the doctors discharged Rudi, they requested a few things, including that he eat and walk around the ward twice.

“He was desperate to go home to his wife, Janita (37), and their four children,” says Louwrette.

When his family and friends visited Rudi in hospital last Monday, he was waiting for them in reception.

Louwrette says they were surprised to see him standing there, without the use of a wheelchair or crutches.

“He still walks slowly, but he is much better.”

“We believe his recovery had to do with the Lord’s mercy.

“There is no way he would have recovered so soon if it wasn’t for God’s intervention.

“We are so proud that he is determined to recover from the accident to support his family again,” says Louwrette.
