‘Fake cop shot me,’ says Slovo Park man

Bogus policemen allegedly shot a man in his right thigh at Brazaville Street, Slovo Park on Sunday.

When SAPS received a call about a shooting at 5.27pm, they immediately went to the address.

“We found paramedics attending to a 28-year-old shooting victim,” says Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora.

The victim alleges he was sitting outside his house, when he was approached by two suspects who introduced themselves as policemen.

Ramphora says one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and shot the victim in his leg and both suspects ran away.

“The victim alleges the two suspects fled the scene in a white car,” says Ramphora.

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
