Victim knocked unconscious by suspects

The owner of a Ford Bantam bakkie was assaulted by two suspects while sitting in his vehicle at Durban Drive, Slovo Park, on Sunday.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the man was seated in his parked vehicle when two suspects, one armed with a firearm, opened both doors.

The suspects instructed the owner to start the vehicle but he failed to do so.

“The armed suspect searched the owner, took his wallet and then knocked the owner unconscious,” says Ramphora.

When the owner regained consciousness, he was dragged from his bakkie and put into the boot of a red VW Polo parked nearby.

Ramphora says the owner says he was dropped off near the Springs SPCA in Strubenvale and walked back to Slovo Park where he found his vehicle with the keys still in the ignition.
